Update Monday Feb 4 New Guests Arriving!

WOW! Thank you to everyone who has made our 14th opening weekend so amazing!  The crowds have been great but we are hoping to see more youth out at the Reelout4Teens events.  If you  or anyone you know is between the ages of 13 and 24 please know that we have planned so many wonderful opportunities this week geared to young people and this is your time to shine in the spotlight so get out there and strut yourself!!

This week offers festival goers a chance to see some AMAZING films.  We offer two different programmes a night Mon-Thurs please check the schedule for showtimes as the later shows might not be as LATE as you might expect. (For example, Mondays late screening is at 8:15pm).   For many of you who have been asking about the 2 film stills found on our website’s main page both featuring good looking guys in the skivvies… the first one is from Reid Waterer’s short film Performance Anxiety which plays along side Una Notta Ancora and the feature film FOUR at 8:15 Monday and the other is from Jon Garcia’s mormon gay love story THE FALLS which screens Tuesday at 6:30pm.

If you love engaging with our visiting artists (and we LOVED all of our guests who paid us a visit this past weekend) then get ready to meet G. Elliot Simpson the artist behind Don Bapst’s short documentary MODELED on Tuesday, February 5 at 8:15 (screening before Joshua Tree 1951: A Portrait of James Dean).  We’re pleased to welcome all the way from NYC filmmaker Michael Morgenstern whose short film SHABBAT DINNER is featured in our SNIPS SNAILS AND PUPPY DOG TALES FOR BOYS at 4pm this Saturday,  Quebec actor/filmmaker Jean-Pierre Bergeron whose film ALONE WITH MR. CARTER is also playing in the boys shorts program.   And we are very please and excited to welcome back Cassandra Nicolaou–the filmmaker behind such Reelout faves as INTERVIEWS WITH MY NEXT GIRLFRIEND, SHOW ME and CONGRATULATIONS DAISY GRAHAM.  Cassandra’s new film is called WHERE ARE THE DOLLS and features Megan Follows (Anne of Green Gables) and last weekend’s guest from MARGARITA Nicola Correia-Damude.  You can catch this short and meet Cassandra this Saturday in the shorts package inspired by her short film entitled HERE ARE THE DOLLS at 4pm at The Screening Room.

And don’t forget that we have a very exciting closing gala party planned for everyone in conjunction with CFRC 101.9FMs annual fundraising drive.  We’re teaming up to offer you a chance to see the musical swagger of MAN CHYNA and the funky beats of Toronto’s DJ SIGOURNEY BEAVER at The Mansion (506 Princess Street) Saturday night (Feb 9) 2013.  Tickets will be available for purchase at the door. No Festival Passes for this event.
