PROGRAMMING MESSAGE Ellis Auditorium has an illustrious history of showcasing independent cinema here in Kingston. Peter Harcourt began screening independent films at Ellis Auditorium in the late 1960s and these regular screening series became what was known as the National Film Theatre screenings, and in the 1980s, found an affordable downtown venue called The Princess Court Cinema (now Time to Laugh Comedy Club). So, in the spirit of our independent pioneering predecessors, and on behalf of the programming committee, we welcome you to Ellis Auditorium for the next ten days! We hope that those of you visiting from out-of-town enjoy all that beautiful Kingston has to offer and for those of you who are planning to visit, why not book ahead by visiting www.staygaykingston.com and book a room at one of our beautiful inns? Speaking of special guests, Reelout is proud to announce visits from Gerry Rogers, John Greyson, Adam Garnet Jones, Jamie Travis, Out on Screen’s Amber Dawn, Vtape’s Erik Martinson and folk musician legend- Ferron- with assuredly more guests to come and we hope you’ll ask them lots of questions! And if 58 titles over ten days doesn’t keep you occupied, you can always check out the rest of Kingston’s inaugural Artignite arts and culture festival running until February 14th in various venues around the city. Keep warm and enjoy the screenings! Matt Salton
