What’s Reeling Out This August!

We’re so excited to start our “You’re The Inspiration” Queer Movie Socials (almost) every Thursday starting August 4th, 2022 with THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT at 8pm at our offices shared with Trellis at 844a Princess St.  Admission is FREE.  Parental Guidance is always advised.

Two weeks later, on Thursday, August 18th at 8pm “You’re The Inspiration” Queer Movie Socials is moving over to our special guest venue, The Window Gallery at the Kingston School of Art 647A Princess St where we will be screening the documentary FORBIDDEN LOVE: THE UNASHAMED STORIES OF LESBIAN LIVES 

We have a rather tasty fundraiser for ReelOut this month on Friday, Aug 19th at 6pm EST!  COOKING WITH REENA: NANI’S DESI PICKLES & CHUTNEYS FROM HER TO YOU . Reelout’s Board Director Reena Kukreja is going to share with you some of her Nani’s most beloved recipes and together, through LIVE INTERNET STREAM, you’ll be cooking delicious and fragrant South Asian cuisine in tandem with Reena!
Tickets are $30 PLUS the cost of your ingredients.
Once you’ve purchased your ticket, we will send you a recipe list along with helpful tips on where to pick up ingredients.
You’ll want to give yourself time to pick up the necessary ingredients and then 20 minutes prep time prior to the show so that you’re all set for the livestream at 6pm on Friday, August 19th, 2022. The Zoom show will approximately be one hour.
Reena will take you step by step through the cooking process. You’ll be making:
Lip-smacking Chutneys:
Desi Sweet Sour Plum Chutney
Tamatar Chutney
Main dishes:
Pea Pulao (Basmati rice with peas)
Cucumber Raita (yoghurt Indian style)
Tofu Shimla Mirch Punjabi Style (Tofu Green Pepper Stir Fry Punjabi Style)
