ReelOut Escapes Planner Feb. 4-6
We hope that you have all been enjoying yourselves so far with our programming (we know we have)! Come join us for the last stretch of the ReelOut festival.
Don’t forget, if you bought a ticket and didn’t watch the film yet, you have 50 hours from the time of the event to PLAY your program. Also, don’t forget to RATE the films you’ve watched to determine Audience Award winners!
Here’s what you can expect for the next 3 days!
Thursday February 4th. We have two fantastic programs lined up today. Beginning at 7pm EST join us for a screening of the feature film St. Narcisse accompanied by the short film Dix Pix. After this program we are thrilled to have a Q&A session with bad-boy queer-indie director Bruce LaBruce. Also beginning at 7pm EST is a screening of the films The Dilemma of Desire and Reminisce.
Friday February 5th. Happy Friday everyone! Today we are offering two programs. Beginning at 7pm EST you can join us for the short film Broken Dolls along with the feature film Gossamer Folds. These films will be followed bya LIVE post-screening Zoom chat where you can pop in and talk about the movies. At 8pm EST we have available the movies Cicada with the short film The People We Hold Dear.
Saturday February 6th. Sadly, our programming must come to an end, but not without a final day of celebration and movie viewing featuring three amazing programs. At 12pm join us for She’s Realing Out: Doc Shorts directed by women. This eclectic mix of 8 documentary shorts offers both intimate & introspective and more traditional chronicling of fascinating subjects of interest with the common thread that all of these films are directed with strong visions from Canadian, women filmmakers. Also be sure to join us for a post-screening VIRTUAL ZOOM CHAT where we will be joined by some of the filmmakers and possibly some of their subjects as well! Our chats are moderated by our friendly staff and board directors. Next in our Saturday line up is I’d Rather Be Looking at RM Vaughan: Men’s Short Programs. This program, featuring 8 films is dedicated to the loving memory of queer writer and video artist Richard Murray (RM) Vaughan who tragically died in October of 2020. Our very last film of the 2021 Reelout festival is our Positive Space Closing Selection: Cowboys. This program is brought to you by the Positive Space program at Queen’s University’s Human Rights Office.
